The Akshaya Patra Foundation is one of the world’s largest and perhaps most celebrated school meals programmes, currently serving 2.5 million children every day, in India and the UK, having served nearly 4 billion meals.

About Bhawani Singh Shekhawat


Bhawani Singh Shekhawat is a Board member of the Akshaya Patra Foundation and is a Carleton Fellow. His career of nearly four decades has seen him carry global responsibilities with top F-500 companies in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, North America.

He was formerly the CEO of the Akshaya Patra Foundation, and previously held senior CEO and General Management positions with Nielsen Europe. Subsequently, he led the Global Director Marketing Science / Best Practices for Reckitt Benckiser and Senior Exec roles at Coca Cola in UK and Europe. During his time with these companies he was responsible for strategic initiatives including M&A and legacy planning.

Shekhawat is passionate about people, growth via innovation and the challenges that leadership brings to any given situation.


As a Social Entrepreneur in Residence he mentors international Business schools, faculty and leaders to create meaningful interventions for significant impact. A speaker with the London Bureau of Speakers, he speaks globally on Leadership, Innovation and Impact.
